INTRODUCTION
The Witchbroom
Aerial Vehicle (WAV) (Figure 1) is a devilishly superior and sophisticated
instrument of aerial witchcraft. The WAV permits trained witches to fly
over hostile territories that harbor superstitious peoples who are known
to hunt and burn witches. The WAV enables missions of all types under
a variety of environmental conditions for both wicked and good purposes.
Distances are shortened and travel made easier.

Witchbroom Aerial Vehicle (WAV)
Two
models of the WAV are covered by this manual:
- The
Operational, single seat, referred to as
model.
- The
Trainer/Ferry, two seat, tandem model, referred to as
model.
The
WAV is designed for VTOL (Vertical Take-Off Landing). Its high rate
of climb enables climbout from forest clearing while avoiding obstacles
such as trees and power lines. Thrust is provided by a Magic Spell engine.
Witchcraft fuel emanates from the personal magic wand that is standard
issue equipment for all certified witches.
The
two-seat model is a training vehicle, which can be converted to a long-range
attack vehicle or to be used for ferry. The Operational model is for
use by senior witches only. This model can be used to thwart enemy craftiness,
as well as for short time transportation between whichever bases that
dot the Ghouland countryside.
SECTION
1 - ARRANGEMENT
The airframe
(Figure 2) is composed of two major assemblies (fuselage and empennage).
The fuselage, the front section of the WAV, is round in cross section.
Its hardwood construction enables witch “knock-on-wood” capability for
the prevention of system failures. A steel constructed radome is mounted
on the front of the fuselage.

The instrument
panel position can be adjusted on the mast for weight and balance (W&B),
depending on number of witches riding on it and their weight. Two seats
are mounted on the fuselage mast on
models, and only one seat on models

SEJ-13
Magic Spell Engine
The WAV
is propelled by SEJ-13 Magic Spell Engine (Figure 3), developed specifically
for witchcraft mobility. The SEJ-13 includes a tri-axis magic dust thrust
buster starter generator.

SECTION 2 - NORMAL PROCEDURES
NOTE
In coping with an emergency, keep legs crossed and maintain control
of the WAV, analyze the emergency and
take appropriate action. A good curse followed by knocking three times
on mast can only help.
WAV
Start
Starting
procedure begins approximately two minutes prior to take-off. This allows
the magic spell engine time to cast its charms and develop the necessary
magic dust thrust. Figure 4 depicts the Proper positioning for Pre-Start
Checks.
Witchcrew shall verify
that witchcraft fuel supplying magic
wands are fully recharged before each flight
Do not mount WAV from RH side. Special jinx protects against unauthorized
mounting.
Figure
4. Pre-Start Checks
Proper Positioning
- Stand
left of WAV and while grasping grips in both hands, raise RH leg above
WAV and sit on seat, holding WAV airborne between RH and LH legs (please,
not too high).
- Ensure
throttle is closed (IDLE position) and chant CHATTANOOGA spell three
times(Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Choo-Choo-Choo x 3).
- After
magic-spell engine starts, check flight instruments for normal indications.
Check lighting system. Verify that magic charge indicator reads maximum
off scale.

Do
not check lightning, smoke and spooky mist
systems
on ground, to avoid causing burns to
goblin
ground crew and damage to surrounding area.
SECTION
3 - EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
This section contains the procedures to be followed to correct a ghastly,
ghoulish or bone shaking condition that could reasonably be encountered.
Multiple enchantments, nice weather or other unusual conditions may require
modification of these procedures.
Emergency
bewitchery procedures are divided into critical and noncritical counterchants.
The critical counterchants are those which must be memorized and performed
immediately, without reference to the written chantlists, to prevent aggravating
the apparition and/or avoiding further damage or injury.
